14-Year-Old Succumbs After Being Stabbed By Officer in Hospital

A police officer stabbed a 14-year-old boy, one of two patients at Bondo Sub-County Hospital, on Monday. He has since died from his injuries.

The ailing boy passed away on Tuesday morning, one day after the regrettable event.

The unfortunate event took place on Sunday night, when a police officer, who was also hospitalized, went berserk and assaulted other patients.

The officer had been admitted to the male ward the day before, coming from Aram Police Station in Rarieda Sub-County.

Hospital management reported that around midnight, distressing screams were heard in the ward, prompting nurses and the clinical officer on duty to rush in and investigate.

Upon their arrival, they found out that the police officer had already inflicted stab wounds on a 14-year-old boy’s neck and a 20-year-old patient’s chest.

It has been reported that the officer was nearing a third patient when medical personnel sounded an alarm. This led to the involvement of extra staff and security guards, who managed to restrain him.

At that time, the officer was still holding a knife.
