The circumstances surrounding the inexplicable death of a 19-year-old Form Four leaver who was enjoying her birthday at her boyfriend’s residence are being looked into by detectives at Nairobi’s Lang’ata Police Station.
According to the police, they were called to a residence in Mbagathi where the death was allegedly reported, but there wasn’t enough evidence to determine what caused it.
To ascertain the reason of her death, investigators say they are depending on toxicology tests.
In order to celebrate her birthday with pals, the Form Four leaver reportedly departed her parents’ house. Five of them went to a well-known establishment on Lang’ata Road, where the festivities got underway.
After the group dispersed, Faith and one of her female friends went to her boyfriend’s place. The friend departed the house a few minutes after midnight, leaving Faith and her lover alone themselves.
“Sisi tulikuwa tu hapo tukienjoy na kuhave fun, then ikafika usiku huyo Mark akasema anaenda kulala, sisi tulale kwa kiti. Kidogo tu mamangu akanikujia nikatoka…” an unnamed friend said.
The friend was unable to call Faith the following day. The boyfriend who had made accommodations for them gave her an odd phone call at about five o’clock in the evening. He informed her of Faith’s passing.
Everyone was left baffled and bewildered by the discovery. Faith’s father was struck so hard that he passed out.
Momanyi claims that he did everything he could to make sure his firstborn child’s schooling would insure her future. Faith was supposed to start college this year after receiving a B.
Faith’s death from a lack of air was confirmed by an autopsy, which also revealed that her lungs contained a considerable amount of water.
Before deciding on the next step, investigators sent additional samples to the government chemist for toxicological testing. Her partner is still being held by the cops.
