In Nyamagesa village, Kisii County, detectives are looking into the murder of Eric Onchomba, 40, whose body was found in a bush on Thursday afternoon. A suspect has been arrested but the motive is yet to be established. The body was taken to a local mortuary for post-mortem and further investigations.
Suspected Murder in Bomet County
In Kapletundo village, Sotik Sub-County, Cyrus Kiplangat, 26, was found dead inside his house under mysterious circumstances. Police who visited the scene reported visible injuries on the deceased’s abdomen, left kneecap and elbow. Preliminary investigations suggest the body may have been moved to the house post-mortem. Police are following up on leads to establish the motive.
Suspected Suicide in Narok County
In Entasekera village, Narok County, Brenda Chebet, 30, was found dead in what is suspected to be a suicide. Her body was found hanging from the roof of her house with a rope around her neck on July 23. Police said the circumstances of the incident are not clear. The body was taken to the mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue.
Mob Justice in Bungoma County
In Matulo area, Bungoma County, two people suspected of cattle theft were killed by the public on Thursday, July 24. According to police, village elders on patrol intercepted the suspects with two cows suspected to have been stolen. When asked about the ownership of the cows, the suspects tried to run and the alarm was raised. The mob attack resulted in the suspects being beaten to death with stones and clubs. The recovered cows were later identified by the owner.
Mob Killing in Homa Bay CountyIn Kendubay, Homa Bay County, another thief was stoned to death by the public after allegedly breaking into a private home. The body was later found by police on the roadside. Police have condemned the incident and taken the body to the mortuary for further examination.

Police are investigating a string of violent deaths reported in different counties in Kenya, including murder, suicide and mob lynching. Investigations have been launched in each case and several bodies have been taken to mortuaries pending autopsy and forensic analysis.
