The body of an unidentified man, thought to be between 35 and 40 years old, was found in River Kuja in Miruya hamlet in Central Kanyamkago. Police in Uriri Sub County, Migori County, have opened an investigation into his death.
Local residents who had visited the region discovered the body floating in the river, according to Toleo Liomo, the commander of the Uriri Sub County Police.
Following the report, police officers went to the spot, retrieved the body, and took it to the mortuary of Migori Level Four Hospital, where it is awaiting identification and autopsy.
Liomo remarked that the body had began to disintegrate, suggesting that the individual may have died many days prior to the finding.
However, the cause of death has not yet been determined, and authorities are continuing their investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the man’s demise.
In an effort to identify the dead and provide his loved ones with closure, Liomo has invited families who have reported missing persons to come forward and get in touch with the police.
