Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, has lauded Isiolo residents for their actions on Friday, February 7, 2025, when they booed President William Ruto and compelled him to abbreviate his speech, describing it as an exceptional and praiseworthy act.

After commencing his coastal tour on Sunday, February 9, 2025, Kalonzo spoke out against the head of state, asserting that the latter’s fate was sealed as he had no place left to run or hide.

“And the case of Isiolo is genuinely extraordinary. This means that there is nowhere to conceal oneself. Zakayo cannot hide anywhere,” he noted.

“And the case of Isiolo is genuinely extraordinary. This means that there is nowhere to conceal oneself. Zakayo cannot hide anywhere,” he noted.

Kalonzo alluded to the occurrence on Friday, when Ruto inadvertently encountered a boisterous throng that rejected his attempts at speech, overwhelming him with loud cries of “Ruto must go.”

As the head of state had not expected to be met with such hostility from the crowd, he was clearly exasperated by the incident. Before he ended his speech early because of the jeers, he responded to them by asserting that those who were heckling him were simply puppets of local drug traffickers.

As part of his final leg of a four-day regional tour, the head of state visited the northeastern county to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the County Aggregation and Industrial Park project.

Alongside him were a number of other leaders from the region, such as Governor Abdi Guyo and Senator Fatuma Dullo, who experienced the same kind of derisive attack from the crowd.

After the governor tried to intervene and calm the upset crowd by imploring the locals to demonstrate at least a little respect for the president, he became the target of their derisive remarks.

However, as soon as the senator stepped onto the stage and started attacking the residents—claiming they were being funded by certain elected officials in the Isiolo County government to interrupt the president’s speech—the crowd responded with an even harsher backlash.

It can be said that Dullo was the target of the heckling to the greatest degree. At one stage, the jeering intensified to such a degree that it generated an atmosphere so fraught that chaos seemed imminent as she entreated them not to make things worse by throwing stones at her.
