In Molo Sub County, Nakuru County, residents of Sachangwan are pleading with government officials and investigative agencies to assist them in recovering their lost cattle from Koibatek Forest Station.
The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officials arrested three herders and confiscated seventy-nine cows for unlawful grazing in the forest, according to documents the complainants were able to get from the Molo Police Station. Following the court proceedings, the herders received a Ksh. 150,000 fine.
But when they arrived at the forest station to pick up their cows, they discovered sixty-seven cows—twelve of them were missing.
Since pastoral farming is their primary source of income, the locals are demanding the return of their cattle and seek justice.
