A 40-year-old dad was found guilty of killing his three children in 2019 and given a 150-year prison sentence by a Bomet court.
The murder had place in the Chepalungu subcounty’s Lelaitich village.
When their mother was gone from home, the guy killed his three sons, ages 12, 8, and 5, and was found guilty.
Justice Ng’arng’ar emphasized the seriousness of the offense and called for a severe punishment to stop future occurrences of the same kind, calling the crime “inhuman and shocking.”
He pointed out that the act’s heinousness—in which the father killed defenseless children—was incomprehensible and could not be tolerated.
The judge further emphasized that such horrible acts had a profound impact on families and society as a whole, thus they deserved a punishment that would not only hold the offender responsible but also serve as a stark message to those who would consider committing such a crime.
According to him, the court’s decision to impose a harsh sentence was intended to uphold justice for the young victims whose lives were sadly cut short and to emphasize the value of child protection.
The mother of the children expressed pleasure and happiness with the court’s verdict, noting that the man has been granted 14 days to appeal the sentence.
She declared, “Justice has finally been served,” and added that the decision provided some closure following years of suffering.
