Following a horrific car accident along Mombasa car, Johnson Nzioka, the National Chairman of the Kenya Primary Schools Heads Association (KEPSHA), went away.
Collins Oyuu, secretary general of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), announced the KEPSHA boss’s premature death in a statement released late on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Collins Oyuu conveyed profound sadness in his message and characterized the deceased as a remarkable leader who was instrumental in redesigning KEPSHA to accommodate the nation’s education sector’s constantly evolving needs.
“At a time when the nation’s education management was undergoing strategic reforms, Brother Nzioka was an exemplary outstanding leader with very distinct diplomatic leadership skills that helped redefine the KEPSHA leadership to a world-class teachers association,” Oyuu said in his statement.
Oyuu claims that the deceased was also a leading advocate for the welfare and rights of educators. He went on to say that he played a key role in negotiating agreements between teachers and the government as well as the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), which is their employer.
He expressed his deepest sympathies to his wife, kids, his family, and the Kenyan teaching community, wishing them courage in their grief.
Johnson Nzioka was a Council member at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) in addition to his position at KEPSHA.
