In a statement made on Sunday, February 9, 2025, Dr. William K. Sigilai, acting CEO of KNH, indicated that there was no evidence to suggest that an outsider had entered the hospital to commit the crime.
“At this point, I want to clarify that we do not have evidence of anyone entering and committing the alleged crime. In the statement, Sigilai remarked, “We know for certain that the patient was killed in the ward.”
Sigilai acknowledged that the incident occurred in the KNH ward and stated that they have referred the case to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) while also initiating an internal investigation to establish the facts related to the incident.

“We are dedicated to offering the family all necessary assistance and to supporting the ongoing investigations related to the incident,” Sigilai stated.
Sigilai cautioned the public against speculation and interference with investigations, stating that the deceased’s post-mortem will be carried out as directed by the DCI.
He also assured the public that security measures have been strengthened to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors at the facility and to avert such incidents in the future.
