KNEC Timetable & Instructions for the 2024 School Based Assessment (SBA) for the Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (DSTE ) – Year 2 – SBA 2
The CBATE e-assessment system will be conducted by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to administer School Based Assessment (SBA) to teacher candidates who are pursuing the Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (DSTE).
Starting June 10, 2024, the KNEC portal will host all pertinent subjects that include project or practical components. Teacher Trainers are accountable for assessing assessments in accordance with the marking guides that have been provided. Comprehensive documents of all trainees’ assessment outcomes must be maintained by principals.
Written assessments will commence on July 15, 2024, through the KNEC e-assessment portal. Papers will be accessible to trainees through the use of their login credentials.

Assessment Access and Conduct
Only designated Teacher Trainees identified by Centre Managers will be permitted to access the KNEC e-assessment portal.
Trainees must be seated in the assessment room thirty minutes before the scheduled time. Latecomers beyond thirty minutes will only be considered under exceptional circumstances. Absolute punctuality is crucial for all assessment sessions.

1. Project/Practical/Performance Task
The assessment period for projects, practicals, and performance tasks runs from June 10, 2024, to July 26, 2024. Specific subjects and their assessment modes include:
