Molo MP Kimani Kuria Responds to Richard Otieno’s Murder
Molo Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Kuria has expressed profound shock and sorrow following the murder of Richard Otieno, a prominent youth leader and community mobilizer. Otieno’s lifeless body was discovered near the gate to his rented apartment on Saturday night, January 18, reportedly after being attacked by unknown assailants armed with an axe.
Otieno, who was popularly referred to as “Molo President,” was known for his outspoken advocacy for youth and community issues. His untimely death has sparked outrage and protests among residents of Nakuru County, with demands for swift justice.
In a statement issued on Sunday, January 19, MP Kimani Kuria described Otieno as a trailblazer and a fierce advocate for marginalized groups, including the youth, women, and less privileged members of society.
The MP noted that Otieno’s efforts had significantly impacted the sociopolitical welfare of Molo Constituency and Nakuru County. Kuria expressed his admiration for Otieno’s bravery and dedication, acknowledging the void left by his demise.

Protests in Nakuru County

On Sunday, January 19, angry residents took to the streets, carrying Otieno’s body from the mortuary and marching along the Njoro-Molo Road.
