There is fire in some areas of Nairobi National Park.
Just one week has passed since a fire erupted at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) last Friday.
The fire is seen close to the Mlolongo region, based on a number of videos and pictures that Kenyans.co.ke has seen.
The images depict a massive fire with black smoke and red and yellow flames.
The extent of the fire’s spread and the area of the park that is currently on fire are unknown.
According to unverified reports, the fire started out as a minor bush fire but swiftly expanded.
The fire in the video begins close to the Standard Gauge Railway line and rapidly spreads.
Regarding the fire, authorities have not yet released any statements. Firefighters from the Kenya Wildlife Service are reportedly present, according to an organization identifying itself as “Friends of the Nairobi National Park.”
The majority of woods and grasslands are dry, which makes them susceptible to bush fires, according to a warning from the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).
In a statement released on Thursday, KFS prohibited the burning of trash close to woods and grasslands unless specifically authorized.
