Following his previous comments against the current administration, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has criticized President William Ruto’s administration for utilizing public resources to settle personal scores.
Speaking at the Peoples Liberation Party (PLP) launch for Martha Karua, the former DP said Ruto’s henchmen felt intimidated when he told them not to remove Chief Justice Martha Koome from office.
Gachagua asserted during a tour of Meru County that Ruto had allegedly plotted to oust CJ Koome from office for refusing to give in to political pressure. However, Ruto has not officially addressed the issue.
“I recently cautioned them from performing specific things when I was in Meru. When they threatened to arrest me, I told them I would wait at home. He said, “You’re welcome. After we have tea, you can take me to the police station.”
“These jails are designed for guys, which is why people are getting imprisoned. They intend to take me into custody. These days, the cells have toilets and are constructed of stone.
As he prepared to run for office in 2026, Gachagua told the crowd that he was Ruto’s worst enemy.
“We will deconstruct him and reveal his lies the day we launch our campaign because we have his antidote. We are making progress; this year, we give him. “No one will pay attention to his lies by 2026,” Gachagua declared.
Together with political figures including Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, the leader of the DAP-K party, former UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi, and Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, the former DP helped Karua’s NARC-Kenya party change its name to the PLP.
