Authorities in Gigiri are looking into a murder-suicide case following reports that a woman in the Githogoro area near Runda allegedly took the lives of her three children before ending her own on Tuesday morning.
Monica, the identified woman, is said to have murdered her children with bedsheets before hanging herself in the house.
Her husband discovered the bodies upon returning home from a night shift. He notified the neighbours, who then called the police.
According to Gigiri Deputy Police Commander Fredrick Alata, a suicide note was found in the residence. Authorities are investigating it to identify the writer and understand the reasons behind this tragic occurrence.
A postmortem exercise is to be conducted on the four bodies lying at the Kenyatta Teaching and Referral Morgue.
