Who we are
all.co.ke ("we", "us") is a Kenyan news and opportunities discovery service. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: teachersupdates@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Headlines and links. We read publishers' public feeds and store the headline, publisher name, time and link. This is not personal data about you.
- What you follow. Your followed counties, categories, publishers and topics are saved in your own browser. We do not receive them unless you turn on alerts.
- Alerts (only if you turn them on). Your browser gives us a push subscription, a technical address used to send notifications to that browser. We store it with your alert settings (what you follow, minimum number of outlets, quiet hours) so we can send alerts. Turn alerts off on the Alerts page to delete it. Legal basis: your consent.
- Outbound clicks. When you open a story through our links we count the click for the publisher. We do not attach your IP address, an account or a cookie to that count.
- Publisher claims. Publishers who claim a profile give us a name and work email, used to verify and contact them.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and troubleshooting, for about 7 days.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Publishers who log in receive a cookie that keeps them signed in. Your follows and alert preferences use your browser's local storage.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf. Links lead to publishers and other sites with their own privacy practices.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its processing, or withdraw consent. Email teachersupdates@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change.
